CycloEdit Professional Banner

Created by Shane R. Monroe, who is a forum moderator on the Team Cyclops forums (hasn't posted on there for ages though), and has his own website and forums, Munroeworld.

He made some very useful software which he named CycloEdit, and has since completely redesigned and dubbed "CycloEdit Professional"

Completely free, the main website is here, and the support forums are here.

It's basically an all-in-one program for managing the microSD card that you use in your CycloDS.

Some of the main features (see full list)

A powerful tabbed interface
Automatic detection of CycloDS Evo cards plugged into the system
An at-a-glance look at your CycloDS Evo configuration

CycloDS Skin Manager
Preview skins with icons and text with colors

Backup Tool <---- Very useful... this is the main reason I use CycloEdit

Powerful deployment tool offers maximum file structure flexibility
Copy an assortment of file types to your deployment folder (ZIPed, trimmed or untrimmed NDS files, etc)
Safely trim game roms as they are deployed (save up to 49% space on your microSD card)
Deploy text files for in-game reading with special formatting and powerful options for reading on the DS

Get the latest updates delivered and installed for you
CycloDS Evolution firmware, cheat file and even CyloEdit Professional itself are covered.
Option to only get stable releases, or get the latest hot betas.

Get an at-a-glance look at your microSD card
See a visual indicator of your available space
View a detailed breakdown of files and space used on the microSD card
Refresh your card to prevent fragmentation

Some example screenshots (view the rest)

Configuration tab
CycloEdit Professional Config
Backup tab
CycloEdit Professional Backup
Update Cyclo firmware, Cheats files, or the CycloEdit program
CycloEdit Professional Update

Known bugs

With the update feature, it has some problems realising what order the Cyclo firmwares come in. For example, it detected that I was using fw 1.55B1, and suggested that IĀ upgradeĀ to 1.54B2 or something like that.. Crazy Razz

There is also a linux version I think, created by someone different. Due to Shane having limited dev time I've *heard* that the linux one might even have a few extra features that this version doesn't.

As for a link, I don't have it at the moment. It would probably be on the support forums somewhere, but I don't have time to look right now.

Post here what you think of it, if this is your first time trying it out.

It's got a thread in the 3rd party apps section of the TC forums, so most people have probably heard of it already.

Well, I think it is a good program for Cyclods users, but I myslef never use it...I find it easier to download the cheat file from GBATemp and the firmware update from Team Cyclops.
But if I ever need to do some basic tweaking, I'll use that.
